This marble was found on the banks of the River Thames by a professional 'Mudlark'. It is an example of a late nineteenth century marble, and is almost completely plain. It is not clear whether this marble would initially have had a pattern on it that has worn away, or if it has always been plain. There has been some wear to the marble, giving an almost mottled appearance.
