Girl's Cardigan

Girl's blue ribbed wool bolero cardigan. The cardigan is open with no fastenings. There is a 5cm hem which runs all the way around the outside of the cardigan. A label stitched into the has a logo which reads 'St Enochwear' in pink text separated by a green dot and in between two green lines. Beneath this is smaller label giving the size as 24. Another label has been cut out of the left hand shoulder. There is a brown stain on the back. It has also been mended in one spot on the back in a slightly lighter blue yarn.

This cardigan is part of larger gift given to the Museum by Daphne Pearce who wore the clothes as a young girl growing up in the Northern suburbs of London. The clothes are all in pristine condition and were worn from the 1950s to 1960s and show a range from baby wear to pre-teen years, approximately 12. This collection typifies the clothing of the period and clothing labels and styles of the middle classes.
