This is a cream mohair rabbit, made by Steiff in the late seventies or early eighties. It has a name tag attached to its bib.
Steiff was founded in 1880 by Margarete Steiff, who designed the prototypes herself. However, it did not initially make teddy bears, something it began in 1902, and is now world famous for. The company remains popular to this day and its soft toys are known for their high quality.

The centre of the ears is of a different nylon material, and have been coloured using dark brown around the edges and pink in the centre to give them definition. The nose and mouth have been stitched in black, and the eyes are black plastic. The rabbit wears a red felt bib, fastened at the back with a single metal popper. |
