Sliding Gauge
Early 1930s (manufactured)
Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
This is a sliding button gauge produced in Germany in the 1930s, with measurements in millimetres and also in two other measurements named London and Paris. The central T-shaped section slides along a channel in the centre of the L-shaped section, which makes a space on the left hand side into which a button would be placed. When pushed back together so that the button is snuggly between the two bars, the gauge gives a reading of the diameter of the button.
