Object history | These bells were worn as bracelets by the donor as a child, when she performed Morris Dancing at St Thomas's School. Eileen (B.1915) attended the school between 1920 and 1925, and took part in many performances of this kind, which marked festivals like May Day and Midsummer. Her mother, Amy Brock nee Piercy, made many of Eileen's costumes so it is probably that she assembled these elastic bands as dance accessories. |
