The sheet of paper contains four squares made up of orange, red, blue, green and purple ink. Darker areas of colour appear where the ink has bleed. The colours have been assigned by mathematical process. In the top right square orange is the predominant colour interspersed with blue, purple, red and green. The other three squares are formed of vertical coloured lines.

Translation
Matrix Multiplication The image was computed on a AEG/Telefunken TR4 programmed in ALGOL 60 and plotted with a ZUSE Graphomat Z64.
Object history
The plotter drawing was sold in the 1960s by Galerie Daedalus in Berlin. The gallery was run by Hanspeter Heidrich.
