Panel of tiles. The panel comprises five complete hexagonal tiles and six cut tiles of similar type. Two pieces are clearly missing from the frame. The tiles are decorated with a stencilled design in blue and white.

Tile panel of hexagonal blue and white tiles, Gonzalez Valls, c.1850-51
Physical description
Panel of tiles. The panel comprises five complete hexagonal tiles and six cut tiles of similar type. Two pieces are clearly missing from the frame. The tiles are decorated with a stencilled design in blue and white.

The tiles are mounted in their original frame.

Object history
The tiles were found in the museum, but are recorded as previously belonging to the collection Illustrating Construction and Building Materials in the South Kensington Museum (see references). The tiles had previously been exhibited in the Great Exhibition, 1851. The tiles are in their original manufacturer's frame.
