A lovely example of a home- made toy, it is unique and very much of its time. It shows how popular culture is reflected in children’s toys. The doll dates from the 1960s and is a guitarist with long dark hair, possible modelled on a rock star of the time. It was made by the donor’s aunt.

Home-made felt doll, Guitarist / Rock Star, made in England in the 1960s.
Physical description
A cloth figure made of stuffed stocking net. Dressed in 1960s fashions, which include a blue spotted top, a yellow felt waist coat with fringing and lilac felt buttons, Lilac flares yellow and lilac shoes; the figure is carrying a felt guitar. The figure also has a metal bracelet and felt watch, felt necklace/headband. The figure has black wool hair and the features are stitched into the face.
