This pair of clogs was worn by the donor, Mrs Clemow. Mrs Clemow received them from her aunt, who worked in Kobe (Japan), during the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Brief description
Pair of wooden clogs for a child made in Japan in the 1920s
Physical description
Pair of Japanese children's clogs (part 1 and 2). They are wooden with identical images of a Japanese young girl on each clog. The girl has orange, green and blue kimono with green and orange shoes. The girl has black hair with an orange hair piece, and holds orange flowers in her hands. Underneath, the clogs have a deep groove to make the heel and sole of the clog. There is a peach coloured strap which is visible from the front (triangular shaped). This threads through to the back of the clog where it is tied with string.
