This set of History Class Pictures was produced by educational publishers Macmillan in 1951. It features sixty full colour illustrations, tracing Medieval history from the Norman invasion to the Renaissance. Drawn by a range of artists, the images make reference to famous paintings and prints, but reinterpreted in a bright and often humorous style meant to engage children. | Object history | The two sets of History Class Pictures (B.401 and 402-2012) were found in Ralph Munn's loft when he died in 1995. Munns was a history teacher in the early 1960s, and he used these pictures to teach junior aged children. |
