Minature Vase

1960-1970 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Berndt Friberg was known for his experiments with glazes, and this miniature vessel showcases techniques he was also using for full-size examples. Friberg worked for a number of Danish and Swedish ceramics factories, including Höganäs-Billesholms AB, and the Gustavsberg porcelain factory, Sweden. Collectables since their production, Friberg's miniature vessels were exercises in stoneware glaze experimentation. Although this piece is marked Höganäs-Billesholms AB, where Friberg worked as a thrower from 1915-18, they are likely to be contemporary with similar pieces he made for Gustavsberg.
