These multiples were sold from a stall in Brixton market, south London, as part of a project called Flypitch which was designed to take art to new audiences. Like much of Gregory’s work they explore the construction of identity, and address the complexities and contradictions of contemporary norms of female beauty, in particular the politics of such strategies as hair-dyeing and hair-straightening.
