This embroidered surgical implant was custom-designed for a patient who had had a tumour removed from his shoulder, and subsequently needed extensive reconstruction. In dialogue with the consulting surgeon, the implant was designed with a wide range of possible attachment points, to facilitate the use of all available tissue. The colour blue was used to be clearly visible during surgery.
