This play set was brought as an example of merchandising commemorating the Royal wedding in 2011. Royal occasions have always been celebrated by the public and there is always a demand for commemorative mechanise from tea cups to flags, from both adults and children, which are popular with the British public as well as with tourists. The museum has many examples of Royal memorabilia celebrating weddings, coronations and jubilees. It also has an extensive collection of pre-school toys which this example will make a good addition to.

Boxed plastic play set of the Royal Wedding, Happyland, made in China for Early Learning Centre, 2010
Physical description
A boxed play set that includes 6 characters, the wedding couple, the Queen and Duke, and two soldiers. It also includes one horse and carriage and a Corgi dog. They are set with in the box and can be viewed through the window of the packaging. The wedding couple are in the carriage with the horse and two soldiers to their left. The Queen, Duke and Dog are held in place on a card castle. The are figures printed inside waving flags. The box is yellow blue and green and has images of the characters printed on the outside. The top right is a ELC logo and below is a gold sticker Special edition 2011.
