Humpty Dumpty's Wall Game

Game
2005-2009 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

'Humpty Dumpty's Wall Game' starts with players building a high wall of bright yellow plastic bricks, and perching a round-bottomed Humpty on top. Then the aim is to remove as many bricks as you can before Humpty falls to the ground. This game is designed for pre-school aged children and was produced and marketed by Chad Valley from about 2005.

The game was invented by George Robinson, who trained as a bricklayer in Hackney, East London. In the early 1990s, George had a major success with the game 'Don't Wake Daddy', and followed that up twenty-five years later with 'Humpty Dumpty's Wall Game'. George remembers that he used to travel past the V&A Museum of Childhood on his way to his bricklaying course at college; now this game of knocking down walls is held in the same museum.

Versions of the game have been produced featuring different animals and characters from children's films.
