Handbill advertising performances by the Bedouin Arabs, to be seen at the Colosseum, Regent's Park, London, dated in pencil, 14 May 18 [...].
The Arabs performed acrobatic feats and dances in the Grand Saloon, in front of a 'New Scene painted for the occasion by Messrs. Andrews & Nicholl, representing the GREAT DESERT OF SHAARA!' Their feats included leaping with sabres, poignards and yatagans, or Turkish scimitars, a slack rope act and culminated in making a human pyramid to represent Cairo's Mosque of Mahomet.
