Barbara Hulanicki is one of the leading figures in the history of British post-war fashion design. She studied at Brighton Art College during the late 1950s, and began her career as a fashion illustrator initially, before opening a mail-order clothing company which evolved into the famous Biba boutique, a key part of the emerging 1960s youth fashion revolution in London.
