Historical context | While preparing for an exhibition on Thomas Wardle at the Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester (2009), Brenda King supplied the information that the burse has the same design as a piece at Gawthorpe Hall, though their version is in green and pinks (personal communication by email, 1.06.2006). |
