Place of origin |
Many new colours for porcelain were invented during the Yongzheng reign period (1723-1735), and several scholars have argued that was due to contributions from Jesuit missionaries working at the Chinese court. The very attractive yellow glaze on these wine cups is brighter than the standard 'imperial yellow'. It was produced by using a lead-antimony enamel which also contains zinc.
