Until it was hit by a bomb during the Second World War, Pollock's shop was the sole remaining outlet for the sale of traditional toy theatre sheets or 'penny plain and tuppence coloured'. Robert Louis Stevenson, Ellen Terry, G.K. Chesterton and Charles Dickens were amongst the many famous people who visited the shop in North London.

Physical description
Fire damaged wooden shop sign with painted lettering and varnished surface. One lower corner section missing, various cracks and small holes due to bomb damage during September 1944.
