Place of origin

This short-sleeved shirt is from Burberry’s Spring/Summer 2011 range for children.

Designed for a four-year-old boy, the shirt features the sharp tailoring of the brand’s adult range, and the trademark black, red and beige check. The pointed collar and locker loop (a loop of fabric on the back of the shirt, under the collar) nod to American college fashions of the 1960s.

This British fashion label was established by Thomas Burberry in 1856 after he invented the waterproof fabric gabardine. This garment was purchased from Selfridges & Co. department store.
