Puppet of Punch, ca. early 20th century. Part of a set of assorted Guignol and Punch puppets. Guignol is the French Punch. These figures are all of the 20th century, but very much belong with their older ancestors.

Physical description | Head, hands and lower part of the legs in hard papier-mache composition. Applied hair. Wearing a red dress probably in synthetic fabric, with inside cotton lining. Dress decorated in blue at the front; upper part of the legs in blue fabric. Also wearing a yellow collar and a red and blue hat with small bell at the top. Mr Punch's hunch is sewn at the back, in stuffed fabric. |
