This fashion illustration by Hiroshi Tanabe depicts a bodice which was designed by Issey Miyake in 1982. The bodice is depicted as a series of curved lines which were drawn using black pen on paper and then photocopied onto the final paper before silver leaf was applied. Six feathers are drawn using white pencil crayon on the left upper edge of the bodice.

Tanabe, who was born in Kanagawa, Japan, is inspired by traditional Japanese woodcuts. He has produced fashion illustrations for a wide range of newspapers and magazines including The New York Times Magazine, British Vogue and Vogue Paris, and Harper's Bazaar.

Physical description
An illustration of a bodice on black paper; the bodice is depicted as a series of curved lines which were drawn using black pen on paper before being photocopied onto the final paper and silver leaf was applied. Six feathers are drawn using white pencil crayon on the left upper edge of the bodice. An outline of the bodice is drawn on a tracing paper overlay using coloured pencil crayon. Although the tracing paper is attached, the designer does not consider it part of the artwork.
