Object history
Kriegsausstellung (War Exhibition)

The exhibition was held between May and October 1916 at the Prater Kaisergarten in Vienna, while the German War Exhibition was held in Berlin (1916) and Leipzig (1916-1917).

The military wanted to inform the population about the aims and advantages of World War I and influence them positively.

The exhibition was planned to open on the 1st May 1916 with Hungarian input. It eventually opened without the Hungarians on 1st July.

The exhibitors were Austria, Bulgaria, Turkey and the German Reich.
