Object history
The three jars (C.111 to 113-2011) were given to the donor while at boarding school in Kent, between 1944 and 1950, to hold personal stores of food. The largest jar said to be 2lb size (C.111-2011), the medium jar 1lb (C.112-2011).
Production
The attribution of this jar to the Albion Bottle Company is tentative, based on the initials 'A.B.C.' moulded on its base. The more prominent mark, possibly 'FMF' in monogram, which appears on each of the three related jam jars (C.111 to 113-2011) has not been identified.
