Object history
The three jars (C.111 to 113-2011) were given to the donor while at boarding school in Kent, between 1944 and 1950, to hold personal stores of food. The largest jar said to be 2lb size C.111-2011), the medium jar 1lb (C.112-2011).
Production
The attribution of this jar to the Albion Bottle Company is tentative, based on the initials 'A.B.C.' moulded on the base of the related jar (C.113-2011). The more prominent mark, possibly 'FMF' in monogram, which appears on each of the three related jam jars (C.111 to 113-2011) has not been identified.
