1. Monochromatic jogakbo
1940s
A jogakbo is a Korean wrapping cloth, which has a distinctive ‘window pane’ appearance. Square or rectangular, it is traditionally made by stitching together left-over fabrics from clothing and bedding for the household. Some jogakbo, like this one, have straps at the corners to help tie or carry the bundle. Scraps of fabric have been upcycled in this fashion since the Joseon dynasty.
