Trained in China and in the US, Yung Ho Chang established one of the first independent architectural practices in China in 1993. Here, so as to preserve the pre-existing trees on site, he created a versatile template in which a single house is split in the middle. A variable splitting angle adapts to any environment, in this instance a small clearing in a valley. The solution also splits the houses' public and private functions, while inviting nature into the heart of the building.
