Box, grey, with flip open lid; the box is embossed with silver lettering 'SUE LAWTY' and contains nine sheets of cream board; seven boards feature samples of woven wool and raffia, one board contains six digital images of woven fabric samples, one board features a sample of raffia, a piece of a paper dress making pattern and raffia wrapped wooden sticks; each board is interspersed with a protective layer of thick tissue paper; the box has a concealed receptacle which contains a moleskin sketch book which measures height 14 cms x width 9 cms x depth 1.5 cm, the sketch book contains digital images, drawings and written notes.

Production | Sue Lawty collaborated with Catherine Willis on the design of the artist's book. Willis was a student at Goldsmith College and worked with Lawty during the making of the stone drawing 'Order', exhibited at the V&A in the exhibition 'Concealed-Discovered-Revealed'. She subsequently trained as a bookbinder, working at Wyvern Bindery, Clerkenwell Road, London. |
