Untitled (Subterranea)

Print
ca. 28/03/2008
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

'Untitled (Subterranea)' is a highly individual map of South Kensington and the surrounding areas with landmarks indicated. Although it is far from an accurate topographical representation, it reflects the commercial tourist maps which distort and simplify the street layout, often magnifying certain buildings and excluding others.

This map was hand drawn before being printed. The original drawing is also part of the V&A Collection (museum no. E.562-2008). The map was specially commissioned from the artist for a 'Friday Late' event at the V&A.
