Place of origin |
This computer version of the classic board game Scrabble was one of the first Scrabble games to appear on home video games and consoles. Programmed for the company Psion (who would later become famous for their early handheld computers), it could be played by up to four players, or against the computer. As with most games for the Sinclair Spectrum, it would be loaded by playing a cassette, taking several minutes to appear. By the early 2000s, official Scrabble games could be played on the Internet, including Facebook, against players worldwide instantly.
