This fashion design shows a woman wearing a brown two-piece ensemble designed by Marjorie Field for the haute couture firm Field Rhoades which was registered in the London street directories at 77, South Audley Street, London W1 for the years 1948 to1949. The design is coupled with a typewritten description of the dress, detailing the lightweight wool out of which it is intended to be made, available colours, size suitability and price (E.483:14-2005). The design was available in brown with green leather on the belt, grey with tan leather on the belt, or in blue with navy leather on the belt. Two smaller pencil sketches to the right show respectively the back of the dress with and without the jacket. The design would have been used as a presentation drawing and forms part of an album of 12 designs with accompanying descriptions from which the client could choose what she wanted to have made.
