'American and European Art and Design 1800-1900' The Berlin factory's display at the international exhibition in Paris, 1867, in which this vase was shown, included a section which celebrated the Norse legends. This example and also a set of five vases with subjects based on the "Nibelungen" were singled out for attention by the British critics. The design on this vase represents the Goddess Freia drawn in a chariot by two wild cats.(1987-2006)
