The Indian film industry is the largest in the world, producing films which range from regional-language cinema to art house. These films are watched by billions of people across the globe. They have their own distinct style characterised by song and dance sequences, bold, colourful imagery, stories within stories, archetypal characters and exaggerated depictions of emotion. The films provide escapist entertainment and characters and themes conveying traditional moral values. The film industry generates music, fashion and images which have become an integral part of the popular culture of urban India.

This is the story of the Kargil war, fought between Indian and Pakistani troops over territorial rights in Kashmir in 1999.

Physical description
At the top of the poster are three large portraits of soldiers. Below them in a smaller scale is a scene from the film which shows armed soldiers in a battlefield charging with their guns.
The title in English is in the lower third of the poster. The ‘L’ and ‘C’ of the title are in red lettering and the ‘O’ is made with barbed wire and has a man’s body contained within. Below this in black lettering is the word ‘Kargil.’
Below the battlefield picture on the left, in black letters is ‘Before we Forget’ in English and in Hindi on the right.
