Object history | Professor F.H. Garner Bequest, 1965. Exhibited: Rijksmuseum, No: 138. |
Production | These plates have traditionally been attributed to Delftfield on the basis of the crest, which has been identified as that of Murray of Polmaise. However, the archaeological evidence from the factory site does not support this attribution; and in 2012 it was suggested that the crest had been wrongly identified as that of the Murray of Polmaise family (see References). It was further noted that this and other pieces attributed to Delftfield may have been made at World's End Pottery, Dublin. |
