My Li'l Playmate Likes To Trike

This toy, of a little boy riding a tricycle, was made by the company Playmates Industries, founded by Sam Chan in Hong Kong in 1966. Playmates went on to become one of the major players in the 20th century toy industry.
In 1978, Playmates launched the Li'l playmates range, their first branded a pre-school range for which this doll on a trike is an example from the 1970s. The company were also well known for producing the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the 1990s.

Doll, vinyl, boxed, on a tricycle, 'My Li'l Playmate Likes To Trike', manufactured by Playmates Toys in Hong Kong, 1970s.
Physical description
Boxed large vinyl doll dressed in brown striped cap and dungarees and a floral shirt. The doll is sitting and riding a pink plastic trike. The doll is boxed in a colour printed cardboard box with a cellophane frontage. The sides of the box have illustrations of street scenes and photographs of the toy 'in motion'.
