'Spiderman' is one of the most popular superheroes of all time. He first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1962, and has since featured in both animated and live-action television series, films and even a Broadway musical. This figure comes from a range produced in 2005 as tie-in merchandise for the second of the Spider-Man trilogy of films. It includes plastic spider webs which can be made into Spiderman's famous web blasts, which he shoots from his wrists. It was produced in China for the toy distributors Vivid Imaginations Ltd., under licence from Marvel Enterprises, Inc. and Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc.

Physical description | Clear plastic and printed cardboard packaging containing a plastic 'Spider-Man' figure and spider webs, and printed paper leaflet. The packaging has an image of Spider-Man at the top, with 'Spider-Man 2' (in reference to the Columbia Pictures film) written in gold text with red surround down the right-hand side. The reverse repeats the text, and has photographs and diagrams of the product in use, and other products in the same range. The figure is dressed as Spider-Man, in navy-blue and red, with silver spider-web details and a large black spider symbol on its chest. It is jointed at the head, neck, shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, ankles and toes, with a hole in each wrist to slot the plastic 'web blast' accessories, of which there are 12 separate pieces, moulded from grey plastic with pink detailing, and which can be slotted together. A strip of printed paper, with text and photographs of the product, sits across the front of the plastic packaging at the bottom, where a folded leaflet is also included. |
