Dish moulded in relief with a grotesque design covering the whole surface, painted in blue, green and yellow. In the middle winged horses, foliated dragons, and lions whose tails end in floral volutes and cornucopias, are arranged symmetrically in pairs on either side of a seated sphinx on whose head rests a flaming vase with a Pelican in her Piety on the rim above it. The remainder of the rim is occupied by lions and hounds in pusuit of horses, stags and bears. Some of the animals are adapted from a Florentine print of the school of Maso Finiguerra.
