This small image of Milarepa, of one of Tibet's most important religious masters, was probably stamped out using a bronze mould. An image of this size is likely to have been placed on a personal altar or placed in an amulet box to safeguard the wearer.

Figure of Milaraspa, seated on a lotus throne; his black hair hangs loosely over his shoulders and is gathered into a bunch at the top of the head; his right leg is half raised, with the knee bent, and crossed over the left. His right hand is behind his ear; and his left holds a covered vase.
