Production | The inventory of the objects in the Art Division of the Museum at South Kensington for the years 1852 to the end of 1867, printed 1868, claim this set to be "Burmese, modern". In 1995 the chess expert Victor Keats suggested that as this chess set is non-figurative it is likely to have had a Muslim origin. |
