This vinaigrette set by Simone ten Hompel consists of two tower-like oil and vinegar containers which sit on a curved base plate. Inside each container is a glass liner made by Patrick Stern at the London Glassblowing Workshop. Ten Hompel’s work is inspired by her interest in contemporary architecture. Today she is one of the foremost metal practitioners in the UK.

Physical description | Vinaigrette for oil and vinegar, silver with glass liners, the base square with a curved top and two small square recesses to hold the flasks which taper downwards to a small, square base. The flasks have narrow slits and are capped by a square lid, with curved edges, the oil bottle with a protruding tube, the viegar with a sliding aperture. The surface of the silver is matt. |
