Doll
1960s (manufactured)
Artist/Maker | |
Place of origin |
This doll was made by Jesmar in Spain who also made the earlier versions of the cabbage patch dolls. A similarity can be seen in this doll with the over sized eyes and head. She has a slot in the back so that a battery can be put in and the lamp in her hand, switched on. This is an early example of dolls using batteries in order to function. This would quickly move onto allowing dolls to speak or cry.
