Portfolio
2010 (made)
Artist/Maker
Place of origin

Geoff MacEwan (born 1943) studied at Goldsmith's and is a noted painter and printmaker. Portrait of the Artist as an Embryo is a delightful manifestation of the idea of self-portraiture but also presents the artist as 'everyman'. It can also be read as a a subtle metaphor for the process of creativity through printmaking, and especially etching, with its chemical reactions.
