This doll was made by Pedigree, they are a toy company located in Exeter, England. Best known for launching the Sindy doll in 1963. It is a subsidiary of the successful Lines Brothers and was registered in 1931 as a doll-making company. It was the year of much success for the Lines Brothers, having also bought the London toy store, Hamleys.
This particular doll, 'Baby Party' was manufactured shortly after Mattel's American version called 'Baby Fun' in 1968, which also came with party accessories such as balloons, a noise maker, horn and bubble pipe. The English version of the doll does much the same party tricks but wears a pale pink dress with matching accessories.

| Physical description | A boxed Baby Party doll by Pedigree. The doll comes in a large rectangular box with colour printed images of the doll being held by a young girl enjoying a party. The doll is vinyl and has moveable arms, legs and head as well as sleeping eyes. Her lips, eyebrows and rosy cheeks are painted on. She has a hole in her mouth so that she can toot the party horn and blow a party whizzer. The doll is dressed in a short pink dress which has a white lace detail and edging and a blue bow tied at the top. She also has white socks with a lilac bow. Two bags of accessories accompany the doll, the first being a bag of party things such as a horn and party whizzers. The second bag is of cosmetics such as tweezers, hair pins and brushes. |
