This toy clockwork boat, in the shape of a cabin cruiser and made of plastic and metal, was manufactured by International Model Aircraft Ltd., a subsidiary of Lines Bros. Ltd., at their factory in Merton, London in the early 1950s. It is one of a series of four plastic clockwork boats produced by IMA under the Penguin tradename. It would have been played with in the bath, paddling pool or, more likely, in other small areas of water, such as a pond.
