This toy boat, in the shape of a cabin cruiser and made of plastic and metal, was manufactured by Scalex, a subsidiary of Lines Bros. Ltd. in the late 1960s. It is one of a series of plastic clockwork boats produced by Scalex, using the Tri-ang trademark. It would have been played with in the bath, paddling pool or other small area of water, such as a pond.

It is one of a series of plastic boats produced by Scalex around this period, which also included sailing boats, tugboats and speedboats. It would have been played with in the bath or paddling pool.
