Half mask to be worn over the forehead, eyes and nose for an unknown production at the Unity Theatre. Possibly made by Barbara Niven, painter and partner of the designer Ern Brooks, mid 20th century.
Physical description
Half mask to be worn over the forehead, eyes and nose. It has been painted in the style of a Japanese Geisha with white skin, pink rosy cheeks, lilac blush around the eyes and painted thin black eyebrows. The eye slits are very small and the nose petite and pointed. Constructed from moulded papier-mâché and painted in white, pink and lilac with details painted in black. A piece of black elastic is used to fasten the mask to the face.

A single strand of hair is combined in the papier-mâché construction at the back of the mask.
