This board game, made of printed paper mounted on thick card with plastic pieces, was manufactured by Minimodels Ltd., a subsidiary of Lines Bros. Ltd. in the late 1960s or early 1970s. It was produced to celebrate the achievements of the sailor Sir Francis Chichester who, in 1967, became the first person to sail single-handed around the World. It is a game for 2 to 6 players, and involves moving yachts around the board following Sir Francis' original route from Portsmouth to Sydney and back again, according to the throw of the dice and instructions on 'chance' cards. It was one of several games and toys produced around this time under the Tri-ang trademark which had a sailing theme.

| Historical context | This game was produced to celebrate the first solo sailing circumnavigation of the World, by Sir Francis Chichester, who left the Royal Western Yacht Club, Plymouth, England, on 27 August 1966, returning, via Sydney, Australia and then Cape Horn, on 28 May 1967, having completed the circumnavigation on 11 April 1967, becoming the first person to achieve a true circumnavigation of the world solo from West to East via the great capes. The game can be played by 2 to 6 players, and was one of several produced by Minimodels Ltd. around this time which related to sailing. |
