This board game, made of painted paper mounted on thick card with plastic pieces, was produced by Minimodels Ltd., a subsidiary of Lines Bros. Ltd. in the late 1960s or early 1970s. It was adverised as captuing all the thrills of authentic yacht racing, and was designed as a game of skill for both children and adults, to be played by two or more people. It provided the novice sailor with practice in the terminology, skills and strategic thinking required in real yacht racing, and, due to the inclusion of additional and more complicated rules, was also designed to challenged more experienced sailors.
