The shotai-jippo vase has an applied chrome-plated rim and base plate. It is decorated with silver yusen chrysanthemums in various shades of green and yellow enamels on a graduated translucent turquoise-green enamel ground. The shoulder of the vase has an interesting abstract border of purple pendent chrysanthemum petals. There are silver yusen geometric patterns around the rim and base plate.
